biomedical textiles, specializing in braided and
nonwoven components for medical devices.
At US BioDesign, our expertise in textiles and experience working with biotech engineers enables us to efficiently help our clients fine-tune their designs. We have an “Engineers First” approach with our own in-house capabilities utilizing CAD-software. Engineering drawings are easily exchanged between our team and our client. Whether you have the beginnings of a sketch or a near-perfect prototype, we can help you actualize your design objectives.
Engineering Phase: Initial Dialog
Even if your sketch or concept is preliminary, our engineers can work with you to help make it a reality. Because our team has gained more than 100 years of combined experience working with biomedical textiles, we know which questions to help to take a project from concept to a final component. An extensive, detailed dialog to discuss form and function is an essential step in the development process.
Sometimes the development process starts off with conference calls and emails, but little face-to-face interaction. The limitations of traditional conference calls between customers and suppliers who work thousands of miles apart can significantly impact effective communication. At US BioDesign, we encourage our clients to interface with us using video conferencing which makes it easy to demonstrate models and prototypes and keep the dialogue going. We often communicate with clients via Skype and do everything we can to ensure that our clients use their time efficiently. When the project moves closer to its final stages, we encourage our clients to join us at our facility to observe the manufacturing process and test/measure prototypes as soon as they come off the machine. We win when our customers win!
